Karelia is a 100% genuine wood product and comes with a 30 year warranty in a normal residential application. The floor boards are precisely milled and manufactured in Finland and come pre-finished to New Zealand. This means the lacquer or oil/wax finish is already applied before leaving the factory.
Unlike traditional solid timber floors Karelia can be installed with a patented glueless interlocking system which allows you to walk on it straight away after the installation.

Sustainable & Environmentally Certified

Karelia hardwood floor is made in Scandinavia and is sustainable and environmentally certified in full accordance with international EN ISO 14001 environmental management standards.

Karelia uses fast growing and quickly renewable softwoods (Spruce) for the majority of the product (middle layer and backing veneer). In comparison solid timber floors use up to 15times more precious hardwood. The finish is a water based acrylic lacquer which harms neither humans or the environment.

 

Hassle Free Installation

No mess, no delay, no worries!

Unlike a solid timber floor, Karelia pre-finished hardwood floor can be installed as a floating floor.
That means there is no sanding and no mess! On top of this there is no waiting time for polyurethane to dry (which can be up to 4 days with solid timber floors).

Once Karelia is installed you can walk on it straight away!

Karelia offers 3 different designs with a wide colour range. Pick your favourite colour.

3-Strip Design

 

This design is very suitable for smaller areas (<30 m²), i.e. kitchen areas or small rooms. It is also the most cost effective solution for your flooring.

2-Strip Design

This design replaces the “good old” look of the traditional solid floor boards used in New Zealand in the past 50 years. Each strip is 94 mm wide and a Karelia board contains two strips with a total width of 188 mm.

1-Strip Design

This design is very suitable for larger areas like kitchen and dining areas or hallways.
The extra wide planks (182mm!) will give you a very sophisticated look to the room.
